These terms apply to all orders placed on www.brownbearleatherworks.com. Please read them before you order. By placing an order, you confirm that you have read them and that you agree to them. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law.
Who we are
The Brown Bear Leatherworks online shop is operated by URSE COSTIN-IONUȚ PERSOANĂ FIZICĂ AUTORIZATĂ, with its registered office at Trandafirilor 65, Berceni, județul Ilfov, România, registered with the Trade Register under no. F23/233/2014, tax identification number (CUI) 32942880 (“we”, “us”).

What we sell
We sell handmade leather goods (wallets, card holders, watch straps and accessories) and downloadable digital patterns in PDF and SVG format. Every physical product is made after you place your order. The photos and descriptions show the products as faithfully as possible; vegetable-tanned leather has natural variations in colour and texture, and colours may look slightly different depending on your screen.
How the contract is concluded
The products shown on the site are an invitation to order. When you place an order, you are sending us an offer to buy. We confirm by email that we have received your order. The contract is concluded at the moment we send you this confirmation email.
We reserve the right to refuse an order (for example, if the product can no longer be made or if there is an obvious pricing error). In that case we will let you know and immediately refund any amount you have paid.
The contract is concluded in Romanian or English, depending on the version of the site you order from. We keep a copy of your order, which we can send you on request.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown in the currency selected on the site and are final prices. We are not registered for VAT, so prices do not include VAT. The delivery cost is shown separately in your cart, before you place your order.
Payment is made online, by bank card or through the digital wallets available at checkout (for example Google Pay or Link). Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your card details.
Production and delivery
Every physical product is made to order. The production time is 8–12 working days from when you place your order, plus the time needed for shipping.
We deliver physical products within the European Union and to the United States. Delivery costs are:
- Romania: free delivery on orders from 50 lei;
- rest of the European Union: €12, free on orders over €50;
- United States: €22, free on orders over €100.
For deliveries outside the European Union, customs or import duties may apply; these are paid by the recipient in accordance with the rules of the destination country.
The risk of loss of or damage to the product passes to you at the moment you, or a person you have designated (other than the carrier), take possession of it.
Digital patterns are available for download immediately after payment is confirmed, from your account or from the order confirmation email.
Right of withdrawal and returns
You have the right to withdraw from the contract, without giving any reason, within 30 days from the day you take possession of the physical product. The law guarantees you at least 14 days; we extend this period to 30 days for all physical products, including personalised ones.
For digital patterns, the right of withdrawal is lost once the download begins, provided that, before paying, you gave your express consent for the supply to begin immediately and confirmed that you know you thereby lose your right of withdrawal. We confirm this consent in the order confirmation email.

Legal guarantee of conformity
For physical products you benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity. We are liable for any lack of conformity that exists at the time of delivery and becomes apparent within two years of delivery. In that case you are entitled, free of charge, to have the product repaired or replaced and, if that is not possible or is not done within a reasonable time, to a price reduction or to terminate the contract, under the conditions laid down by law. For digital patterns you benefit from the guarantee of conformity provided by law for digital content.

Lifetime Guarantee
In addition to the legal guarantee, we offer, free of charge, a Lifetime Guarantee, valid for the life of the product, against construction defects in the stitching, edges and metal hardware of our products, on the terms set out on the guarantee page. This commercial guarantee does not limit or affect your rights under the legal guarantee of conformity; you can use it in addition to them.
Liability
We are liable to you, in accordance with the law, for the products we sell and for the proper performance of the contract. We are not liable for delays in performing the contract, or for being unable to perform it, where this is caused by events beyond our control (force majeure); in that case we will inform you as quickly as possible. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where the law does not allow this, including for personal injury or death caused by our fault and in respect of your consumer rights.
Digital patterns: licence to use
When you buy a digital pattern you receive a personal, non-exclusive licence to download, print and use the files in order to make the products described yourself. You may not resell, distribute, publish or share the files (in whole or in part), whether free of charge or for payment.
Site content
The texts, photographs, product designs, patterns and logo on the site belong to Brown Bear Leatherworks or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute or use them for commercial purposes without our written consent, except as permitted by law.
Customer account
You can also order without an account. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your password safe. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
Personal data
We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Complaints and dispute resolution
If you are not satisfied, please email us first at [email protected]. We usually reply on the same working day and try to resolve any problem amicably.
You can also contact the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC, anpc.ro) or the alternative dispute resolution (ADR) entities within ANPC.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Romanian law. If you are a consumer resident in another Member State of the European Union, you keep the protection given to you by the mandatory provisions of the law of your country. Disputes are settled by the competent courts in accordance with the law, including the courts of the consumer’s place of residence, where the law so provides.
Changes
We may update these terms. Each order is subject to the version in force on the date it was placed. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
